I use RealPlayer 8 Basic to listen to streaming audio from one of my favorite radio stations, Radio F Nuremberg (Germany). Great oldies station!
Today I am having difficulties. RealPlayer connects, plays a short advertisement for a travel agency (woman's voice) that last only a few seconds and then nothing.
I don't get any error messages so I don't know if it's the RealPlayer -- or the station.
If you have RealPlayer I would greatly appreciate it if you can check this station out and see if you get the same response:
I had completely forgotten that I had RealPlayer (seldom used) on my Linux box. Soooo, I fired it up and checked the site out with my Linux-version RealPlayer. Results? The same thing - first the ad then nothing. Apparently the idea is to quickly run the ad while loading up the buffer then make a switch to the live programming.
I don't think it's a problem with RealPlayer as far as receiving the stream, etc. because it quickly connects and plays the ad just fine. Anyone with RealOne or RealPlayer? I'd appreciate some feedback to confirm this. I know that WinAmp works (receives ad and switches to live broadcast) but haven't received any responses from anyone who's connected using RealOne/RealPlayer.
Nothing to be sorry about . . . it tells me that it's likely on their end and nothing I screwed up here. Plus, it was nagging at me . . . you know, the unresolved nagging feeling.
Again, thanks for taking the time to check and reply so quickly. I do appreciate it.
