    command interperter

Hello. I am trying to format my HD and reinstall Win 98 SE. After formatting and reinstalling Win, I tried to load Win 98 SE. However, I got a error msg asking me to type in the command interperter ie) c:\windows\command.com I reformatted the HD but this time I typed format c:/s and reinstalled Win again. However, I still got the same error msg asking me to type in the command interpreter. Any solution?? Thanks

    Hi:

Use a different 98 startup floppy.

Be sure to set bios to defaults.

make sure win98 disk (CD) is in good shape

use a new 98 floppy to fdisk, forMAT c: , setup.

command interpreter should be something like win.com or windows.com

put the floppy in and reboot.

go to www.bootdisk.com to make a new floppy.

maybe your install needs to be doine again (50 minutes, what have you got to loose).

The command interperter should be located in the c:\
    root directory named command.com.

Many boot sector viruses lately so you may need to address
this issue by using fdisk /MBR.

But look here for getting started with fdisk/partitions/format/
    install windows:

    Good luck.

You can download a little program that will recreate a Windows 98 bootdisk from bootdisk.com
