Help with naming tracks using Roxio EasyCD Creator
I recently purchased a new Dell 4550 that came with Roxio 5 EasyCD Creator and had a quick question. I'd purchased a CD/RW for my old PC that came with Nero Burning 5.5 and after some intial consternation learning how to create compilation CDs, really came to like the program. With Nero you were given the option of adjusting the way track information was stored and written on your new CDs, i.e. "Artist - Song title", "Song title - Artist", "Track XX - Song title", etc. There were several provided formats, or you could customize your own. With EasyCD Creator I've figured out how to get the information off the internet site, but can only seem to get the Song Title written onto my new compilation CDs...how do I add the Artist's name onto each track title as well? I've only made one CD so far, but so far am pretty happy with EasyCD Creator, and its been much easier to learn compared with Nero. Thanks,

Just right click each track > rename to add artists' names.
bubernak, I've got a question 4 u now I've answered yours. When I use the modules "Music CD Project" and "MP3CD Poject" they work great for the most part but for some CD's I can't get EZCD to get on-line to retrieve the CD info. However using the "Sound Stream" module for the same CD's EZCD can get on-line to get the info no problemo! Does this happen to you too or it's just me?

Are you saying I have to actually type in the artists name for EACH track, or is it just an option that I'm 'flipping' to add the artist name to each track. I know the artist name comes thru with the song titles from the internet site because with Nero I never had to type it in.
As for your question, I just got the computer, so I've just begun playing around with it, but I didn't seem to have any problem with the first CD I put in to pull tracks from. As I remember, I just made sure I was on-line and hit a button that said something like "get names" or "name tracks" or something like that and all the tracks went from "track 1, track 2, etc" to the actual names.
Ok, now another question for you. With Nero, once I pulled down the info for a CD from the internet site, it gave me the option to save that in a music database on my PC so if I decided to pull additional tracks off that same CD at a later date, I wouldn't need to go back on-line. Does Roxio have anything like that?

You go to File > CD Project Properties and check "Automatically save artist/title/track names after recording"
As to the orginal question ... the artist's name will be record automatically if you're burning from one CD. For a compilation, the only way I have been able to save individual artist's name to each track is to rename or write CD-text. Either way it is manual. There may actually be a way to do it like in Nero but I don't know. Hang around and somebody else may talk us.

falcon...what is the "Sound Stream" module your talking about? Is that something that comes with the basic version, or did you upgrade to the Platinum version. I don't recall seeing that module.
I burned another CD yesterday compiled from about 5 other CDs and had no problem getting the track info from the internet site for any of them, the only thing I keep forgetting to do is switch the recording method to Disc at Once option, so I haven't been getting the text written on the CD. Is there a way that you know to permanently switch that option to be the default, rather than the Track at Once option?

There is a "Set as Default" button on the lower left corner. That's should do it.
(Yes, I have the "Platinum" version.)
