link gets a 404; home page sez board is down for maintenance.

Long as I'm here, I'll promote Moon Software Freebies . I use Bookmark Wizard (sorry, it's for IE only). Lots of nice little programs, though.

On that note, I'd like to add GlobalScape's Cute FTP. It's about the best and easiest FTP client I've ever used. They also make other great software such as Cute HTML.

Here's another cool little free program that proves itself to be very handy under some circumstances..

    ghostmouse

It records mouse movements and clicks and plays them back at variable speeds repeatedly until you turn it off.

I use it to click a link to get refreshed stock quotes while I'm not sitting in front of my computer.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

Running_on_Wheel, I hadn't ever heard of any major security flaws in CuteFTP, but if there are any let me know. GlobalScape has had a very good history, so maybe they've fixed any problems they've had in the past.

I used to run an FTP Server, so I'll promote the FTP Host software I used (and many of my friends swear by). It's called War FTP and it's freeware! It's easy enough for beginners to use and also provides advanced tools as well.

I was going to say WebFerret from FerretSoft.com, but I changed my mind when I saw someone else'e post.

WebFerret is great for Internet searches, but I could actually live without it if I were forced to.

On the other hand, I would certainly die if someone took away my Partition Magic, by PowerQuest

That little puppy's rescue disk has saved me from innumerable sessions of pounding my head against a wall.

    yProxy (brawnylads.com (free))
    Netscape (free)
    EZViewer (galttech.com (free))
    HJsplitter (free)
    THE Renamer (free)
    KaZaA Lite (free)

And if I didn't mention this, I'd get my ass kicked:

ICQ (I met my wife of 2 years there... no ****... (free))

there are more, like MailMaster (for spamming the spammers, regedit and msconfig, PictureIt!, just too many to mention...

I see this thread made STICKY

    Congratulations

OK, not sure if anyone's mentioned Eraser and XP-Anti-Spy.

Heidi will clean your disk(s) and XP-Anti-Spy allows you to disable all those pesky things that are defaulted to in XP (Windows Messenger, Automatic Updates, etc.).

    Both free BTW.

Anyone know where you can d/l HDValet for free? 'preciate any info.

    Hi All,

    Just ran across another great little program called rjhExtensions. It enhances the context menu in Explorer by allowing;

    Path to clipboard:
Copies the path of the selected folder or file to the
    clipboard.

    Shred File(s):
Overwrites and then deletes the selected file or files.
WARNING: Shredded files cannot be recovered.

    Rename Files:
The Rename Files extension allows you to quickly and
easily rename multiple files in multiple folders.

    Encrypt File:
The Encrypt/Decrypt extension allows you to easily
encrypt and then decrypt any file using a modified
version of the powerful Blowfish encryption algorithm.

    Duplicate File(s):
Creates a copy of the selected file or files in the
same directory. The duplicate files will maintain the
    properties of the original.

    Copy directory list to file:
Creates a file named "dir.txt" in the selected directory
which contains a list of all files, their dates and sizes,
    in the selected directory.

    Print directory list:
Sends a list of all files, their dates and sizes, in the
selected directory to the default printer.

You can get it here;(it's Free too)

I noticed the number of views this thread had was reset to '0'. I'm not sure why exaclty, but no matter.

I thought of another great program that I love. It's actually not a program, per say. It's actually a bundled group of video and audio codec's (including divx) and is excellent if you download a lot of videos over the net and then find that you can't watch them because you don't have the proper codec.

It's called Nimo Codec Pack and they're up to version 5.0 build 9.

    Enjoy

    Webshark -

I don't think the post count number was reset to 0, (at least intentionally), I think it can't display numbers over 10,000.
