This may be a dumb question to some of you but is it possible to network two computers via 56k modems One of my computer's network cards isn't working so instead of downloading drivers, puttin them on floppies and puttin in that pc, i'd rather set this up so i can still have the internet on the pc that doesnt work. i have a cable modem so i dont have to worry about having 2 modems in one pc or anything. I know it will be pretty slow but that's fine with me.
Modems are capable of communicating between computers they require that you dial a phone number, So you would need each modem on a seperate line plus software to link the computers.
In short I guess the answer has to be no. Surely the simplest way would be to install the drivers for the network card, or get a plug and play network card. They are so cheap at swap marts.
