At this point in time, when there are excellent, up-to-date, free alternatives, I would never advise loading anything that old. Open Office is free and is able to open all the major file formats. http://www.openoffice.org/
If you are looking for just a word processor, AbiWord is an excellent piece of software http://www.abisource.com/

HAN, ............ In my preliminary investigations for a substitute word processor I did install Open Office. Also, I did come across references to AbiWord. I'll take a look at it now . Thank you for the input.
