I did run my anti-malware and spyware programs. It tooks five hours, but it did find some adware. I did delete that. I went to defrag. That took overnight. In the morning, it couldn't defrag the whole computer.

I will try to other solutions you have.



P.S. I know this is unrelated, but my Internet browser keeps disappearing. At first, I thought it crashed, but when I minimize another program running it pops back up. What's up with that?
