After you change something or try a new fix for the problem be sure to shut down computer for a minute or so then start back up. I had problem for the longest time not being able to open links in new window and tried so many fixes. Then one day computers were shut down for cleaning and when the one was started back up the problem was gone.
This is what I was told about that:
Sometimes just performing some action and rebooting will not clear up problems. The RAM is volitile memory and will only be cleared completely when the computer is turned off. Memory can hold stuff when a reboot is performed and if the stuff that is being held has a bearing on the problem the problem will continue when it reboots, but the memory will be cleared completely when the computer is shut down.
