Check your desktop's "HOSTS" (no file extension) file for an entry that matches the site you cannot access. If there, delete that line, (and then reboot).

Many hard drive manufacturers now have a diagnostic utility posted on their website for testing their brand of hard drives. Recommend running it to see if there is a problem developing.

Not yet. Running maybe 6 or 7 of them at the office so far and hadn't noticed any dead pixels. Most are 17" 'BenQ' brand.
