I believe the cases you refer to are when the anti-virus cannot delete the infected files. In that case, the virus will get restored. But in the case of an updated AV which has the virus signatures,...

According to this, a system restore will not work if the anti-virus deletes or quarantines a file during restoration:
As they have an updated ESET installed, which I know will kill the virus...

With the anti-virus updated, it will catch the virus during restoration.

He's a mechanic. He knows as little about computers as I know about cars. There's no way he'll ever use system restore.
I have my doubts though that restoring the system will bring the virus back.

Good work and...

- No AV...

The program itself is not illegal, but it depends how you use it. it is illegal to use someone else's wifi without their permission but in public places where they share their wifi, there is nothing...

Glad to hear you got it sorted out.
Sorry to tell you though, I doubt your computer will last you 5-10 years. 5 is possible, 10 is highly unlikely. They just don't make them like they used to.

I've always been under the impression that the speed of USB ports (both front and back ports on a case) is dependent on 2 things. The motherboard and the case itself (for front ports). On cheap...

The way to think of IMAP is that it is one email program that can be used in multiple locations. So if you send an email from Seamonkey at home and you then log in to gmail from...

Great thread Nick.
Is the PSU at the bottom of the case or do you have it upside down?
-

There are other supported programs to use with Gmail but I don't think Seamonkey is. It might work anyway though, so you could try it anyway. You can either use Pop3 or IMAP. I suggest IMAP which is...
