I'm not sure this is the problem, but it could be the inverter, or a fluorescent light that has gone bad.

The best advice I can give you at this time, is to uninstall the printer, software, and driver. Then, connect the printer, and see if it is detected, and asks for the driver.

Ok, we are running out of options now. Try and uninstall the printer software and the drivers for it, then reboot your computer, and see if it asks for the driver, then put in the printer's driver CD

If you have USB ports on your box, then you won't need the card. Just plug the USB cable to the computer and printer.

Perhaps winXP had the proper driver and installed it. What driver is listed, in the Device Manager, for that card, and is there any marks (exclamation mark, an X) next to the card?

I am sure it is still there. When they updated the driver, rather than doing a driver for each model of card, they probably made one driver to work on all the cards of that model.

Usually you will download a video card driver with an executuion, or a zip file to your hard drive. If it is a zip drive then you need to unzip it, and then look for the setup file, and click on it....
