you should configure the firewall software to allow sygate to run as a server.

If you only one IP, then hub alone is not sufficient to share internet connection.

Use the "telnet" command (without quotes) in windows.
Go to Start-->Run and type telnet
then in the port type 25 to see if a server accepts connections to in that port.
