I simply put this line in my autoexec.bat file in C:\ then on every bootup the recent files are deleted.

You looked in the correct place. Customer had the same problem and Winktag.exe file was the culprit. It would download about 30-50 emails. I would delete them and they would immediately download...

Chuck, just for kicks go to Windows\System and see if you have a file named winktag.exe...virus scan will not find it. It will download many emails all with virus and is usually deactivated by server...
