It could be the RAID controller beginning to fail. I have a PC in my collection with that same mobo but I'm running an 840 Pro as the single system drive. Considering that board is close to 4 years...

Use larger icons with the 1920 x 1200 setting. I'm on a PC with a 50" 4K display at the moment, 3840 x 2160, and have no issues with the large icons. At the higher resolution you'll have much more...

Look on Ebay for replacement UPS batteries. I quit using UPS's several years ago and switched to a professional grade power conditioner.

The two main causes of restarts are overheating or a defective power supply. From your description my first educated guess is the CPU cooling fan is bad and it's causing overheating.

Pfffft.... The Samsung SSD's come with data transfer software included for free. Image the current C drive then install it on the new SSD, no big deal. It takes me less than 15 minutes to do a SSD...

Win 7 would have installed on the old one if you're set the drive controller to IDE instead of AHCI. Microsoft has a hotfix for enabling AHCI after the install, you then have to set the controller...

Uninstall it. VLC is a far better media player than Power DVD.

Ever since Win 7 that's usually the case due to the included default drivers. If going from an Intel to AMD platform in Win 7 at times a change in BIOS changing AHCI to IDE is initially required...

I have two Win 10 Enterprise computers. One is a test machine and the other sees daily use. I won't be installing 10 on any of the other six PC's I regularly use anytime soon though. Even with 10...

Is the ATX connector for the mobo securely plugged in? Does that video card have a connector for external power and if so is it properly connected? Personally I'd remove the mobo from the case along...

Since there's an illegal OS keygen used the odds are it's also pirated as well. I refuse to work on anything with non-legit software on it, no telling what else is wrong with it as well.

Look in the Nvidia control panel and make sure the second monitor is enabled.

As a side note Tom's Hardware did some thermal imaging tests on CPU dies to show where the actual areas are that transfer heat to the spreader/cover on top of the die. It's a much smaller area than...

While Win 10 may indeed run on it a Linux distro will work a lot better with the limited resources available.

I'm not sure if Hiren's Boot CD still has the special version of Dban in it for checking disc integrity but it's a great disc diagnosis tool if you can get a version that's got it.

Some GPU's don't have onboard audio for HDMI. As far as I know all of the ATI-AMD based GPU's from the HD5xxx series and up have onboard audio via HDMI.

I have 2 large 4K TV's I'm using as monitors. I'm using XFX R9 290 & 290X GPU's to drive them. I was using a MSI HD 7950 with one of them with great results until I upgraded. A used HD 7950 or 7970...

At this point the wisest thing is to do a fresh install of the operating system. You would have been finished long ago if you'd done that from the beginning. After you get the new OS installed put...

If you really are compelled to get Win 10 wait for the next release that'll allow a fresh install using an existing Win 7, 8 or 8.1 activation key. Win 10 is bloated with useless crap, MS installs...

You should try running one of the live on disc versions of Linux such as Mint or Ubuntu and see what that optical drive shows up as. That's always a good way to sort out if the problem is hardware or...

You can save several gigabytes of space on the backup image by turning off the hiberfile and relocating the swap file to another drive or partition. Even on an uncompressed mechanical hard drive...

Do a Windows search of your C drive for GWX then delete everything found. You'll need Take Ownership and Unlocker to get rid of a few of them. After that pay very close attention to all updates that...
