Does your SATA drive have a 150/300 Jumper? Your motherboard may be 150 only and drive is set to the factory 300 Maybe.
I know the MAXTOR 500GB SATA drives have a 150/300 jumper.

Sounds like the Light tube is bad - you can change them easy but only with same size tube's - its the small tubes that do that alot - i wish for big ones that flicker lol - but test your new inverter...

Not sure if this will help you but others may want to know.
If you have a Router then do a MAC clone off another PC or make one up and reset and this will change your IP at comcast. USB connection...
