OK, I figured it out. I needed to remove anonymous authentication from the Exchange virtual folder, and it started working, (and my phone is still synching).

So, in windows 2000 workstation, when you share out a folder, it looks like the maximum it will allow you to set is 10 or below. Is there a way to make this go beyond 10?

You'll need something in between the two networks so they can communicate. So, a router, or a computer with two nics setup to pass the traffic back and forth. I'm not sure what sort of cheap router...
