    Just to clarify, the search box on the New Tab...

    Just to clarify, the search box on the New Tab page is not the same as a searchbar. Pretty sure you'd need an extension to add an actual searchbar to Chrome.

    What version of Chrome are you running? The latest version is 80.0.3987.106.

    Do you mean Google search from the new tab page? By default, it will send the search to the address bar (aka Omnibar)....
