I'm running win2k with 2 hard drives-one is a 80gig (which windows is on) and the other is a 160gig (for downloads, pictures, mp3's, documents, etc and no OS). I'd been having problems when i played...

My 2k is full...but i have 98 on C drive too...and thats not full, theres alot of unused space at the end of 98's part of the drive. Can't i just use PM to format the part that 98 is in and then...

How do i make a backup...(and are you talking about a backup of the boot.ini file or the registry?)....can i just right click and copy it (boot.ini) and rename the copy, BEFORE i make the changes? Or...

Both 2k and 98 are installed on C drive. When i'm in 2k i can't 'see' 98 and visa versa. I have a w2k cd yes....but....its NOT a MS cd...its a copy my son gave me.

Well its all done now....when I got there yesterday my bro in law was on the phone with tech support and they'd already walked him thru booting to safe mode and logging in that way...but the system...

All they have is a System Restore disk...is that the one I'm supposed to put it in the drive and start with? When exactly do I put the cd in the drive? Should I boot up first then put it in the drive...

This is what happened....My sister and brother in law wanted me to come over and 'clean out' their computer cause it was running slow. I've done this for them many times to rid their pc of spyware...

Thanks Eric, I immediately changed that logon to Windows Logon...now the Networking one is gone. Glad you told me about that!

Does anyone know of a program that will move the Program Files folder to another drive, along with changing the registry entries for each program? I have way too many programs installed to uninstall...

guess i didn't make my myself clear. What i'm worried about is the (1024) or 8gb cylinder limit. If i move 98 to make more room for 2k it puts 98 past the limit....and as i understand it 98 wouldn't...

No its not adjusting for daylight savings time, I checked that already.
I looked at the 'events log' but i don't know what i'm looking at....or looking for, for that matter...i've never used it...

Thanks zachary720. I emailed her the setup file and the page. I also told her about going into CONTROL PANEL/ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS/INTERNET EXPLORER and trying to repair it first. I don't even think...
