You will probably need to either enable the XP box as a DHCP server, or manually assign IP addresses to both machines. The RH machine will have the IP address of the XP machine as it's default...

So at this point you probably cant boot into windows as well. Doing a grup-install will probably only add the linux partition to the grub menu, you would have to manually add the windows partition...

I don't believe there is a way to install it to the hard drive. There are live Linux cds that will though such as Knoppix or Mepis.
