Win7 Eternity? You usually have to reactivate when you change hardware.

Ok. I'm guessing you mean System Backup from the User Guide. That would work.

Yes, you can do a restore to a formatted SSD. You don't need a formatted drive anyway; it's capable of restoring to a blank drive.
No. You would need to create a To Do Backup boot disc or USB...

Hah. I know the feeling.
If the cloning doesn't work, try my other suggestion about creating a backup and then restoring. That's how I do all my imaging nowadays. Cloning is too slow, especially...

When I click Disk/Partition Clone, I still see a radio button when I hover over the partition. I don't have a setup with multiple drives where I can test it, though.
If cloning forces you to copy...

No, you can select individual partitions.
On the Disk/Partition Backup screen, you can check the box next to each partition. You need to hover over the partition for the checkbox to appear.

I'm assuming Disk0 is the SSD and Disk1 is the HD.
When cloning/imaging the HD to the SSD, you would only choose the 150MB and 919GB partitions.

Are there 3 partitions on the HD? You should only need the 100MB System Reserved partition and the C: drive.

That's exactly my point. To Do Backup is made specifically for backups/imaging/cloning.

Note that the link is from 2011. I'm not sure why you decided to switch apps.
Easeus To Do Backup supports migration to SSD, i.e. aliging the sectors....

Then your software doesn't support automatic alignment. Is there a reason you need to use Easeus?
RAW means unformatted. You don't need to preformat before cloning/imaging.
Like I said, I...

If you have the right imaging software, you shouldn't need to realign the sectors. For example, Acronis True Image will do it automatically. I'm not an Easeus user, so I'm not sure if there is an...

That's probably the Dell recovery partition, but it shouldn't be 140GB.

At the Disk/partition backup step, make sure to check Hard Disk 0. That would include both the C: and Other partitions

Which EaseUS app? They have several different ones. You basically need to do the same thing you did the first time, just make sure to include the system reserved partition. It should be 100MB and...

You would basically copy both the system reserved and boot partitions from the source SSD to the target. From your description, you only copied the boot partition (C:). You need to get the 100MB...

That's one way to do it.
Do you mean that you booted from a boot CD/DVD? That shouldn't make a difference. Or do you mean some kind of HD caddy that goes into an optical drive bay? That wouldn't...

You didn't say which OS.
Are you sure you copied the system reserved partition? That is required for Windows 7+ to boot.
