Yea, most likely its a heat problem. I had the same problem. At this time of the year being so hot and humid its likely to happen. You can go to a store and buy a cooling fan for the pc.;)

I have and western digital 20 gig harddrive. First i put it into an old pc and had the same problem as you put it into a newer pc and it reconized the whole drive.
