What do you mean it didn't work? Did you rename or delete the old usrclass.dat or not? Did you use an elevated command prompt or not?

You should have seen a list of all wireless networks you have ever connected to in Manage wireless networks. It should NOT be blank.
It sounds like the Usrclass.dat file got corrupted.
