Every 2X Vid card I have ever seen is backward compatible to 1X.
So as a general rule I would say yes use a 2X card if you like.
4X though I think has different power requirements and may not...

I got the same problem with a fresh reload of 95 osr2 on a 486 33 mghtz system I am currently ignoring LOL. I am going to load win 98se on it and see if it can at least Identify the hardware for me....

Just release and renew your ip address. At the run command type in "winipcfg" then at the utility push the release button wait a sec or two. Then click on renew!

Have somebody make you a windows 98 startup disk.
Put disk in drive and then turn on computer.
The at the a prompt type in "sys c:" without quotes.
This should make your Hard Drive bootable....

I would go ahead and remove 1.1. If it messes up 2.0 somehow I would delete that and reinstall it. 1.1 was a add on to XP..... If memory serves me right. I think it originally came with 1.0 when XP...
