Thanks Train I downloaded the utility....going to hook the drive back up tommorow and see what power max programs tells me.....Goose tried all that but thanks....with the maxtor drive installed...

Okay.......I removed that dam easy bios....removed maxtor Hdrive and I am up and running again.....but I cant seem to get the maxtor to work without the easybios......any ideas?..... ...

How do you disable easy bios? or turn it on for both drives?...this may relate to a problem I am having

My computer will not fully load windows. It boots goes all the way until I see my wall paper and I get start up sound effect. Then it just stops no icons task bar nothing it will load in safe mode...

I third that opinion.....with the Gateway system you will run into other problems upgrading down the road.

What kind of video card do you have....does you video card have a fan on the heatsink......if your are not going much above 50c then that is not the problem......but for the longevity of your CPU I...

lol....Bistro....You also could buy a new case with a good PSU and transfer everything over.....I did this with my Emachine.....bet you never seen a Emachine with a full tower case and a 300 watt...

I agree with BadBrain.....A 1.4 Anthlon with ddr ram will destroy p4 1.4 running any ram you want.......cost and speed Amd is far better than Intel.....
others will tell you Intels may be slower but...

There are many good board makers....I would not limit myself to any one brand....look around the net read some reviews.

Build.....you probably wont save much money these days.....but the system you build will be far superior...look at the specs of the store bought 5400 rpm hard drives, onboard video and sound,...

You will need to get a pci IDE controller card.....this will allow you to add more Ide devices......2 is the limit
