OMG! I thought to myself, "what volume controls on the monitor?" I never knew they were on the bottom of the frame of the screen! Yes this icon is there, & I can change the "100" to "99,98,etc."...

Yes, speakers came with the computer.
There is a volume knob on one of the 2 speakers, & it works OK.
I can’t tell about disconnecting the speakers; yesterday the icon wouldn’t go away at all!...

Speakers are separate.
