So that tells you that you haven't updated your BIOS with the Spectre fix. Updating the browser won't completely fix it, no matter which browser you use. The problem is at the CPU level.

Your antivirus must be compatible before the January updates will install.

Monthly rollups are CUMULATIVE. If you're installing the January rollup, you don't need to install the December one.
