The post in Tenforums is way over my head. This issue causes me concern. It may be time for my annual reformat of Win 7.

This problem has returned. In spite of shut down, the machine restarts. I'm looking at your Search Everything. Is the install set to default? I don't understand the configuration parameters.

Uninstalling the new Copernic and installing the older version cleared that up. I emailed Copernic a week ago, haven't heard back.
Thanks!

I did find Previous Versions and can regain 70 gigs. but that's not going to solve the problem. What a mess! Should I uninstall WUdates one at a time?

When I do Clean System Files of Disc Cleanup I don't see Previous Versions. I tried manually deleting the Windows.old but it wouldn't go.

Yes, I mean attachments. I'm too unsure of Acronis (the new one) to try it yet. That's my last resort before reformatting.

Yes, WU is on automatic, but not any more. I just tried Sys Restore and it didn't take. Error (damn, I forgot it!) something like Ox80070005. I'll try your recommended apps.
Thanks!

Looking through Windows folders on C drive for additions for 2/10 or 2/11. I find Win sxs with a load of files, amd-etc. And I find Assembly, which has a ton of MSIL files, etc., dated 2/11/16.

I also get this on every shut-down: "True Image is terminating current operation. Your computer will shut down in two minutes". And it does, promptly. Maybe TI is my remote client?

I don't see a Wake-on-Lan in my BIOS. There are a couple of LAN related settings but their description doesn't seem to fit the requirements. Should I go back to BIOS and write these down?

I would have to remove Acronis to reactivate Windows Backup, so I guess I'm going to have to let it ride. Thanks.
