Partition Magic 8.0 uninstall problem
I have been getting an annoying error message on starting up Windows XP. It says,'XMNT missing, skipping Autocheck' It then carries on starting up. I had read that this was due to my using Partition Magic 8.0 to partition my new external HD. I then tried to uninstall but could not find it in Add/Remove or within the program itself. I therefore did a search and deleted the folders. However, the error message was still there. I checked the registry and saw that Powerquest ( the folder for PM 8 ) was still there. I am unsure what to do next as I know that it can be risky touching the Registry.
Any suggestions, please?

Liam/858 and Welshjim
Thanks for the input. Liam- I use Ashampoo Uninstaller and it did not pick up Partition Magic.
Welshjim- I did remove and try to re-install but I now have a failure on installshield.exe saying there is an error 1628 and I STILL get the error message 'xmnt2002 missing skipping autocheck'. I cannot sort this but at least the computer is still running!!. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for your efforts. I have looked for BootMagic (which I have never heard of) and have found no trace.
