My create restore points' disappear after a few days or weeks .. why?

Occasionally I want to restore a point I created ,, as most points are created daily with certain updates etc .., but sometimes when the time feels right I will manually go in and create a new restore point .. But before I do I'll check to see what points are there already and 9 times out of ten there is None! why?

How is this happening?

any points of interest, others may have about this?
wopuld like to stop this happening with my windows 10 ., ? (version 1703)
