Check the various stickers on the laptop. One of them should have the actual, specific model number. That will help us get you the correct driver.
Yes it is the same PC i am fixing for a friend.
I did that & there was 3 drivers at Dell
Networks says no Connections.
Tried all of them & still no Internet.
Guys I merged the two threads since his network controller problem is with the same laptop. And some of the posts overlap.
Thanks, Photolady. I was thinking the same thing.

Which network driver is missing? There are downloads for both Ethernet and Wireless controllers.
Look in device manager for any other missing drivers.
Here is what i have in device Manager.
Maybe there is a driver i missed.
Please advise where to look.
Here is the service tag. D1SWZW1
Model Inspiron 3521
Thanks for the help.
You still didn't say if you have 32 or 64 bit Windows 8. That makes a difference.
It looks like the Ethernet driver was installed (Realtek).
I see 2 wireless drivers on the support site. Did you try both of them?
Dell Wireless 1705/1703 1x1 WLAN 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth v4.0+HS Driver
Dell Wireless 1704 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver
I have 64 bit windows
I tried both.
I first selected update driver & selected browse & selected the driver & nothing happened,so i just clicked on the driver & got this message.
Where do i find the Bluetooth switch ? ( i don't even know if this Laptop has Bluetooth )
Is there a special way to install the driver ?
Tried the other driver & it failed.
If you don't see a physical switch for BT, there may be a key combination with the Function keys.
