I have a new monitor (2560 x 1600) but my Sony Z will only go up to 2048 x 1280 and the newest most expensive Sony will only go up to 2048 x 1280.
I am willing to replace my laptop if I have to (just don't want a desktop)...
Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your reply. I was really excited until I read Maximum 2048 x 1535 resolution...
Design your own Clevo P270WM 3D Gaming Laptop with at least the GeForce GTX 675M and it should be able to handle up to 2560x1600

Apple, Acer, and Asus are reportedly working on producing laptops with ultra high-res displays for the first half of 2012. In the case of the MacBook Pro lineup, the displays may feature an unprecedented 2880 by 1800 pixel resolution.

Intel braces for very high resolution computers
http://www.electronista.com/articles...ion.computers/Quote:
Intel's Developer Forum in Beijing has seen the company make predictions as to the long-term future of computer displays. A presentation caught by Liliputing saw "Rich Displays" with very high resolutions likely becoming mainstream from 2013 onwards. These wouldn't just exist in smartphones or tablets, Intel said, but would extend even from the smallest ultrabooks through to at least smaller all-in-one desktops.
These would include 11-inch ultrabooks at 2560x1440 through to 21-inch desktops with 3840x2160 screens.
Intel also expected "halo" 15-inch notebooks with the same3840x2160output, [ ] which would create a Retina Display-like effect.
