I have just updated my Java from Java Version 7 Update 9 to Java Version 7 Update 10.
I now find that the Java icon has disappeared from my Control Panel.
Any help please.

Can't say that I've ever seen a Java icon in control panel. How certain are you that you had one?
You can search your Windows Folder for *.cpl to find all control panel icons.
Steve, Java installs a .cpl in Control Panel and you use it to configure update schedule, etc.
PinguJohn, are you in "Classic View" in Control Panel?
Hi Steve, I have always had a Java icon in Control Panel until I updated to Java 7 Update 10.
Hi falcon, yes I am in "Clasic View" in Control Panel.
I still see the Java.cpl.
Did you install the JRE or the JDK?
Did you uninstall the previous versions?
I would try uninstalling the old Java version and then re-installing the latest Java.
Search for javacpl.exe. If you find it, you can try the other suggestions here: Adding or removing icons in Windows Control Panel.
Ah ok. I normally uninstall the older version first. And then I install using the offline installer.

Uninstalled and then reinstalled Java 7 Update 10 using the offline installer from the link provided by Midknyte.
Success, Java icon back in Control Panel.
Interesting point, Java Uninstaller and System Restore both reported uninstalling Java 7 Update 9 when it was Java 7 Update 10 that I was uninstalling.
