After giving it very little thought I suggest you reset the Dos time and date using commands of the same name. Make a target directory to copy the files to. When you copy the files they will appear with the date and time you set, unless the archive bit is set. Of course of the time stamp will change with time. I must be over looking the obvious.
I can find no function for DOS. However I use Norton Utilities 7.0 and it has a command FD which allows you to change the date on a file.

DRDOS v7 and higher includes the command TOUCH.EXE to change file date & time attributes. Is there an MSDOS equivalent?
