Will the upgrade work if I only have WIN 98?

I'm sorry if this has been covered, and it's proabably a "dumb question", but...
This "old" machine works great. It came with WIN 95, but Gateway mailed me a Win 98 upgrade disk within a couple of months. Do I need to be buy a full version of XP or an upgrade? Thanks!

You would want the upgrade. BUT, XP needs a pretty decent machine to be run on. Yours sounds like its a little on the old side.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm going there now to check it out. We paid a lot for this computer when we got it, so it really didn't outdate that fast. It's a Pentium II, 400 MHZ, 128 RAM, 10 Gig hardrive (that's not near full). It does everything we want it to. I'm not even sure I want XP, just wanted to know in case I decide I want it.
