Laptop not booting
About 1 out of 3 times when I turn my laptop on the curser flashes in the top left hand corner and nothing else. I have to remove my battery and power cord to completely turn it off until re-connecting.
When I do this I get message "The last attempt to resume from system file failed. Attempt again?" I can click "Continue" or the default "Delete restoration data & proceed to system boot meni". I select this default and all is good.
But it is driving me crazy, does anyone know why this happens.
It doesn't matter if I just close the lid or do a shutdown.

You might start with a memory test and the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic tests. The Ultimate Boot CD has those. It could also be the battery or AC adapter, or both.

Sounds like problems coming out of sleep mode.
Are you running Win 7 ?
Try enabling usb keyboard in bios, it's sometimes off by default....Don't know why it works, but sometimes does.
or...
Try to boot in to the Advance Boot Menu and select Last Known Good Configuration (LKGC). For more information follow the link given below.

Try this and ur laptop should come on.
Remove the battery, remove the memory module(s). Re-sit the ram modules one after the other,ie if there are two to detect the faulty one. Better still test a known working ram module with the laptop. Boot up again, ur laptop should come on..
