:( When Turn on my computer I get this error msg dllfile.msasn1.dll when this happens I can't get onto the internet and I can't pull explore or get into my computer or control panel. I can pull up other programs but can't load any new programs. help please thanks ..
What is the exact text of the error message?
If you mean the message is that this .dll file is missing, then
1) This is a legitimate MS file for ASN.1 Runtime APIs
2) You should be able to restore by following the following instructions

except, of course you want to restore msasn1.dll , not the one used in this tutorial

And I responded:
If Win 98 was installed when you got the PC, you probably have a bunch of files with the name rbxxx.cab, where "xxx" stands for numbers. (You may want to run a Find on rb*.cab to see if you have them, because if you do not, there is not much point in reading the next paragraph or so.
Assuming you have these files, they are usually located in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs.
When you follow the instructions in the reference I provided

when you get to the line "Restore from", you type in
C:\Windows\Options\Cabs
System File checker should automatically restore the .dll file for you. If SFC does not suggest a place in which to restore the .dll, I would guess it should be C:\Windows\System.

Another possibility is that you can download and install the file from

Using these download sites always runs the risk of virus or spyware (so scan before you use) or that the version is not the right one for your PC. But this route may be your last chance.
If you have no rbxxx.cab files, no Win98 CD, and downloading from the internet does not help you, you probably are looking at buying a new Win operating system CD. If your PC will handle it, go for XP.
