When all is said and done, I think I prefer the old 932B, primarily because of the aspect ratio. It was the older style, almost square, ~4:3. The SA300 is a wide screen.

I'd like to make a last check before I send the 932B off to monitor heaven. Is there any reasonable and practical was to fix it?

I have been looking for Nividia as a choice that I want to go with.
Anyone have suggestions?

Anyone have any ideas? I looked at the BIOS and the drive looks OK.
I am suspect of the video card. Would a bad video card give me this error message?

A week ago my son spilled this drink on my keyboard, but I think we caught it quicky enough before any damage was done to it, but in the last three days my computer has been acting weird.

#1 - Turn on computer and during POST it stated no hard disk detected. So I unplug and replug the the hard drive cables.
#2 - Video would not display with my PCI Express x16 Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti that I got a year ago. So I pluged into the Onboard Video, everything works fine from this point
#3 - Next day notice my video driver for my 550 Ti was showing up in the display setting, repluged the video card back up, would not display during POST but would display once Windows was up, but the explorer window or browser would not show, but the application was running cause I could see it in the task bar. This is very wacky!

Anyone every run into this?
Is my video card dead?

Can someone send over an Exodus?

Hey guys, so here's my problem: I have a PC that I built around Christmas time. Up until this afternoon, everything was ok. But, this afternoon, it stopped working. It started as I would be able to turn the computer on, then a couple seconds after I got to the desktop, it would turn off. Later, after this happened multiple times, the computer wouldn't turn on at all. The lights would turn on and the fans would start to spin for only a fraction of a second, then turn off. At first I thought it was the drives (boot-up ssd and a 3TB hard drive), but when I unplugged the to see if it would start up, the same thing kept happening. I'm beginning to think it's a dead motherboard, but I want someone elses opinion. Thanks for reading. Hope you can Help out.

Hi there,

I have a Dell Dimension 9200 with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz and XP Pro. X years ago, I needed to add a third HDD so bought a 1tb SATA 2, with 64mb. When I installed it, it was so slow as to be almost useless. I posted a thread and was advised to change it for a 32mb and that works just fine.

As I have a lot of large mb photos, I now need to look at another HDD but everything seems to be SATA3/64mb, which will probably not run on my SATA2 based computer. Or will it?

I assume that SATA3 is backward compatible but what about the 32 v 64?

Thanks

I'm slowly recovering from a system crash, working on areas as I need then. As part of the recovery I've upgraded the OS from W2K to XP.

As a result of either the upgrade or the crash my scanner has quit. The scanner is a stand-alone Canon N1240U. I can hear the scanner react to the boot-up sequence, but I'm unable to scan. I'm pretty sure it needs a driver suitable for XP. Therein lies my question.

I have the driver, CanoScan_N1240U_v7010.exe. As part of the install process I must delete the old W2K driver, using the Canon program DELDRV_v12062.exe. When I run the delete program I get a message, something to the effect, "Can't find suitable Java Virtual Machine on your system. See Download at java.sun.com."

That's the point at which I get lost and totally confused. I don't know how to proceed.

I run Firefox 20.x as my browser. I have IE 6.0.2900, though I almost never use it. I have JRE6, JRE 1.3.1_02, and I've found a javaRa 1.16 Removal log.

So, I'm totally confused, and need somebody to lead me by the hand through this forest. I've undoubtedly left out some critical information, so ask away. I'd appreciate all the help I can get.
