Today I used the button top left on my keyboard,
it seemed to shut down the comp in the usual way, it went very quiet, no hum or anything.

I switched it back on 2 hours later with the same keyboard button and it came back in about 40 seconds, with the windows there just as I left off .

I m wondering, is it worth doing it this way in future ? its kind of putting the comp in hold, not a full shut down.

Are there any disadvantages ?... like, could it be burning elec
in that mode ?
Thanks for any advice.

- USB device will not be bootable: data only

- Must be 128-bit AES or better

- Full disk encryption nice, but if partial, not severely limited (2Gb is way too small)

- Very much prefer that the software be run from the USB device, rather than having to install it on every stinkin' computer I touch

I've done the Web search but before making a decision I thought I'd seek advice from y'all: that way I can blame someone else if it fails.... :p
OREM, Utah An 18-year-old Utah man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after police say he left his homework at the crime scene.

Police in Orem say they tracked a USB drive found at the burglarized home to Dallas Naljahih. They say the computer hard drive contained his homework and was in a backpack abandoned in the backyard.

A 75-year-old man and his wife reported their home had been burglarized early Saturday. The husband says he was woken up by a light in his office, and found a man who was looking through a desk.

The suspect punched the man and fled on foot.

Police say that Naljahih was found asleep at his house along with evidence connecting him with the burglary.

I want to upgrade my processor and it appears I've got mostly only three choices...I think.

Here's my motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157115

It uses an LGA 775 socket and NewEgg only has about 7 processors that are compatible with that socket.

The current processor is a 2Ghz dual core processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116052

Now I want to upgrade to something with a little more juice. I've narrowed it down to the following three procs:

1. Intel Pentium D 945 3.4GHz LGA 775 Dual-Core Desktop Processor

2. Intel Pentium E5700 3.0GHz LGA 775 Dual-Core Desktop Processor

3. Intel Pentium E6600 3.06GHz LGA 775 Dual-Core Desktop Processor

Here's the comparison on NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E19-116-391-TS

If there are other options I love to hear them. And if not, which of the three would you get?

Also, the motherboard already has 2 GB of RAM (I don't remember what kind) and I'm seeing the board only supports up to 2GB. I assume there's nothing I can do to bump that up short of replacing the whole board. What do you guys think?

I have used this site for malware and I appreciate it. I thought I had another malware issue but the mod over there had me open a thread here as it may be more of a windows issue

The PC I am sending this from is fine. My daughter's laptop (Dell running Vista) all of a sudden will not boot up (it happened after she had some redirects but apparently the OTL scan I privded was clean.)

When she tries to boot.....in any mode - normal, safe , etc... - it gets to the Dell logo screen and then jumps back to the "windows error recovery" screen.

I did download the OTLPE boot disk and can boot with that.
Thanks
