purge

Hello all,
I have taken over a small Novell Network 4.11. However I want to check and later on add network passwords to the server for new users. Unfortunately I dont know how to do this without any manuals or documents which have not been left by the past admin. How do I go about getting to these passwords? Is it in a file or menu set up?
Thanks

You can run "SYSCON" to get the list of valid users. However, there's no way to view their passwords, as they are encrypted.
As the Netware Administrator, you can change the password of any user.
Useful tools in Netware are SESSION, SYSCON, and the ?CONSOLEs (?=A, B, F, P, R). There are more, like TLIST, NDIR, etc... you'll probably want to go to CompUSA or Staples and look for a Netware 4.x book of some kind.
The previous administrator should at least have been nice enough to photocopy the documentation and leave it behind before leaving the company...

Under Netware 4.11 you should be using the utilities NETADMIN from DOS or NWADMN32 from Windows. They are in SYS:\PUBLIC and SYS:\PUBLIC\WIN32 respectively. As AlaricD said, there is no way of displaying the passwords, only the ability to change/reset them.
