Hello,

There has been some abuse at my company of IM clients such as AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, Etc. and I was wondering if anyone has a link to a page that lists the ports that common IM products use so that we can block them on the firewall.

Thanks for any help!

If you can't find a list of the ports, you can install a firewall program on a computer thats running the IM programs, set the firewall to block everything, and then read the logs to see what was blocked. You can then use this info to add new restrictions to the main firewall for the LAN.

That's a good idea. We've found some of the ports like 5190 for AOL, and some websites that list ports to block. Thanks!
