Hello,
I am trying to get my laptop and desktop to see each other over the network. I can get them to see themselves, but not each other.
I am using Netgear Ethernet hub EN104.
I have them both plugged into the hub plus my external DSL modem.
Here are my TCP/IP specifications:
Obtain IP
Diable WINS
Gateways:192.168.10.1
192.168.10.2
192.168.10.3
(my laptop has one more that i am supposed to use when i conect at school)
DNS: Enabled (Then I have my dsl information)
the rest is standard
File Print sharing is enabled
The Identification is all the same on each computer (except the names)
Share-level access checked
my desktop computer can connect to the DSL with this information, but the laptop does not.
In network configuration I have:
Client for Microsoft network
My ethernet adapter
TCP/IP
File and Printer Sharing
I used to have them working at one point, but I formated my one desktop and now things just aren't working. Also I used to have some trouble if I have taken my laptop to school and connected to there servers for internet, then when I bring it home it would have some trouble connecting back to the home network. Eventually it would work though. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really apprectiate it. Thank you
