yo,
I bought a new amd thunder 1000 mghz with an
ethernet card running on windows me,
all the good ethernet cables,a "workgroup switch 10/100 5-port(etherfast linksys ezxs55w,no software with that ??).
My old pc(for the kid) is a p-200 running
on win-95 with an ethernet card.I was told(about 10 times)that i could get simultaneous internet(have a coaxial connexion with a motorolla modem)with all that.
tried to connect modem to uplink of switch
and 2 cpu,cant even share files,please help

To connect the modem to the switch's uplink port like you're doing, you'll need to contact your ISP and lease a second IP address. They'll probably charge you a few dollars a month extra for it.
