100Mbps LAN transfers - simple as this?

I have a Linksys 10/100 NIC in my machine and my brother currently has a 10Mbps NIC. I'm planning to swap that out and replace it with a 10/100 NIC I have lying around. I do have the Linksys 4-port router/switch and all using CAT5 cable... so if I just plug in that other NIC and make it "autosense" like mine, will it transfer files between the 2 machines at 100Mbps ?
