I have a Compac persedo and the monitor quit working. Took out the AGP card & replaced with a S3Trio64 PCI card. Everything works fine. Replaced AGP card with VooDoo3 AGP card. Still nothing......Help

Howdy
you can leave the PCI video card in your machine. it will be the default video.
Your problem is not the APG card, exactly, somehow the Bois settings have been changed.
When your computer starts-up it goes into a POST setup. This POST tells the MotherBoard what it has --and-- how to use it.
When you start your Compaq it should quickly display the "Video Card Type" then load its MEMORY. At this time, a small caption should appear "Press Del to change setting" ( or something like that ) . . . press the DELETE key ( or what ever it says ) and go to the ADVANCE SETTINGs . . . APG ENABLED should be your choice.
If not, then goto http://www.compaq.com and look for the BIOS update for your machine. Down load it, run it, put a blank 3 1/2" floppy into drive A and your set to go. Restart your computer, with the disk in it and follow the instruction. ^_^ Simple.

Aaah the magic of the Bios.
