How do I clear the history in a search engine

How do I go about clearing the history on a search engine. I.E. www.google.com (http://www.google.com) , if I start typing in "ca" letters I don't want to see the previous searches I did with the letters starting with ca. Can I clear this someway so I don't see ca then car then cars etc. Thx in advance.

Well, when auto complete fires up the list for ya, or at the blank field press the down arrow.... arrow down to the entry in question which will then be highlighted and press your 'delete' key. On your keyboard.
