Make sure you are up to date on your version, the previous CDDB contract expired, now a new database is being used.

From the support site :

In version 4.X - As long as the recorder supports writing to 80 minute media (this should be either in the spec sheet, or can be found from the manufacturer of the drive.) In Easy CD Creator, at the bottom of the screen, it will say, "estimate based on..." if you click on this, you can choose either 80 or 74 minute CD.

Not sure if that will help. If not come back and I'm sure someone can answer about the HP.

I updated my version through the Roxio site, but it still does not allow the song titles to be downloaded from the Web. Anyone else have a solution for this? Thanks!

Many of the older Sony based HP burners will not overburn or write 80 minute CDs.

Sony added some drivers to their Sony CD Extreme software that allows many Sony burners to overburn and do 80 min CDs. It worked on one HP I am aware of.

If you want to try it download the original freeware that MiseryQ has kindly made available: http://151.199.133.3:8080/extreme.html

Then go to Sony and download the update: http://sony.storagesupport.com/dlagreement.zulu?dlid=cdrw/downloads/SonyCDExtremeUpdate.zip

While you are there get the manual: http://sony.storagesupport.com/dlagreement.zulu?dlid=cdrw/downloads/cdx_manual102500.pdf

Try the original program without the update to see if you can do 80 minute CDs. If you can’t then do the update and check. The original download doesn’t have Sony drivers and there isn’t any reason to have them if you don’t need them. I am curious how it works out, so get back with your results.
