Loaded Game wont play

Hi out there
I cant play games on my computer.
The game loads, but when I click on Play
Screen goes black and cursor is all that is visable.
Can anyone give me some advice ??

Can you please post your computer specifications.
Try reinstalling the drivers for your sound card and video card, next reinstall or install Direct X 8.0 and then try playing your games again.
