James http://discussions.virtualdr.com/cool.gif zam1el April 19th, 2001, 01:53 AM Not I, but now I'm going to go search for/on it. ------------ I found this...all information is there... the only other thing I found was a 6 year old's homepage who was using Clearice as her "net alias" http://www.clariondeveloper.com/ ------------------ Mark [This message has been edited by zam1el (edited 04-19-2001).] James C. Lasater April 19th, 2001, 04:12 AM That's exactly the one that I was looking for, my question is has anyone used it? Does it do what it claims. James http://discussions.virtualdr.com/cool.gif capri April 27th, 2001, 01:00 PM I haven't used Clearice, but until recently I was using Blackice. Blackice lets you know when someone is scanning your ports and you can block them. Sometimes it gets pretty intense..you can have dozens of hits over a 1 or 2 minute period...other times go a few days with no hits. It describes the type of scan and when you click for more info it takes you to a website that explains the type of scan. However I found that Blackice blocked my ICQ. I had been unable to use it since installing Blackice. Recently I finally got around to installing ZoneAlarm so I took the Blackice off...and ICQ works fine. Sounds like the Clearice is a report type program...likely for if you want to go after whoever is scanning your PC. virtualdr.com
