I have a Epson 480 (please stop laughing, its all I could afford). It will no longer print a full document, It starts with the best intentions but then just stops and continues to spit out a load of gobble de guke. I have it running with a Backpack CDRW.
They both worked fine together until I upgraded to Win 98 SE.I have tried uninstalling . I had to re-format my HD to install 98SE. Have I made a BOO-BOO, please help. (I'm a bit of a num num but I can follow plain English. Many thanks in advance, Lisa Bromley

This sounds like a driver issue. Have you downloaded Epson's latest Win98 drivers? Version 5.0c for Win98 is available from http://www.epson.co.uk/cgi-bin/epson-uk/driveruk.pl.
Under "Search for a specific printer:", do the following:
1. Select your EPSON Stylus Color 480 using the drop-down list under "1. Select Printer:".
2. Select Windows 98 using the drop-down list under "2. Select Operating system:".
3. Click the "Search" command button.
You should be taken to a web page showing the v5.0C drivers for your printer. Download that 7.4M file and follow the installation instructions. I hope this helps... http://discussions.virtualdr.com/biggrin.gif

Thanks for your suggestion, I had already done it with no luck. I have now sorted the problem out. It was a mix up in my BIOS. Thanks again, Lisa.
