I just started using IE5.0 & OE5. Problem is, I can't send emails w/ attachments. I get an error "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection...." It references Error Number 0x800CCC0F. MS Support says to try setting Modem Extra Settings to S12=50 but this didn't help. So MS said, oh well, good luck.
Every once in a while I can get an email out w/ attachment but the attach has to be teensy (<10kb) and only text and even then it doesn't always work. If I've gotten the dreaded error message, then no attachments will go, nada, no matter size or simplicity. Have to shut down & reboot.
Please, somebody, help.

Click on your account's properties: From OE, click on Tools>Accounts, highlight your mail account and click on Properties.

Click on Advanced. Move the "server timeouts" slider closer to "long." Click Apply.

If that doesn't work, also try clicking on "break apart messages larger than " right below the slider.

Thanks but no luck. Neither suggestion helps. Any other ideas out there??

I use OE5.5 with IE5.5 (SP1) and have no problems whatsoever with email attachments. I've also found IE5.5 to be less buggy for me than IE5.0 was. You can get IE5.5 SP1 here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/download/) and it includes OE5.5
